Bryan was nothing like Jerry Falwell. He was known as "The Great Commoner" for a reason. He fought against the super rich and their undue influence in our system. He was a peace advocate, anti big bank, anti railroad (super powerful at the time) for the common man, a major advocate of trust-busting. Not to mention a genius

He was a legitimate powerhouse in his day with his influence still felt in both parties today. Democratic economic ideology can be directly traced to Bryan. The Republican parties social conservatism can also be traced directly to Bryan.

sorry i meant he was known nationwide as a very conservative christian leader who was totally against evolution.

Thanks for the comments. I'd forgotten what little I ever knew of him.

Well, everyone always wants to quote scripture to say why they don't need proof of this or that...I can't prove evolution cuz no one knows for sure where we come from, and when you guys use scripture to substantiate claims, that proves nothing to me cuz I don't believe that scripture proves anyting cuz I am not a devout christian...so round we go.

Where do you read in that post that god doesn't exist?..that's not what it says.

I never quoted scripture. In these types of discussions I always avoid not only scripture but even direct mention of religion. Intelligent design can stand on it's own merits.
